Origin Fertility Care

Your First Visit

Once we receive a referral letter from your GP or consultant, we will send you an appointment to attend a pre-consultation clinic. At this appointment the female partner will have an AMH blood test and the male parner will have a semen analysis, if appropriate. When the results of these tests are available you will be given an appointment for a consultation with one of our fertility doctors.

This appointment is important as you will have the opportunity to discuss your test results which helps set the agenda for your treatment programme. The results can indicate a number of infertility causes and may let us move directly to specific treatments. This saves time and can eliminate a number of other tests at a later stage and because it is a fixed price it appeals to many couples as an excellent investment in first-stage analysis.

At the initial consultation we will look at the medical and fertility history of both partners. The female partner will have a physical examination and in some cases the male partner may also be examined.

This examination and the test results may help to identify the underling problem and provide firm guidelines as to the most appropriate treatment, although this is not always the case.

In all cases your first visit will result in a formal assessment, as required by the HFEA. This will enable us to recommend appropriate tests and treatments, define the nature of that treatment and its cost. We will also give you our opinion of the likelihood of success.

Please look at the treatments menu for an explanation of the treatments that are available for a variety of infertility causes. Please also review our price list and partial refund policy for an explanation of the costs of treatment.
